Advanced Search Criteria

Premise: Lucas is looking for all his private records, created between 2019 and 2020, which carry Tags “Investments” or “Legal” that are either PDF or Word documents.

How-To: Such complex inquiries can be easily done using the Advanced Search Feature, as in Suppl#37. (See section 4.7.7 Profile, Advanced Record Search (Account owners) on page 66.)

Lucas chooses a date range between Jan 1, 2019, and Dec 31, 2020, selects “Private”, and constructs the following Tag query: Must include ANY of Tags “Investments”, “Legal”.

He also checks “PDF” and “Word” under “Record Types”, and hits “Save and Search Now!”

The results are presented in Suppl#39.

Variation: Repeat Search in the future

Premise: Two days following his initial Search above, Lucas wishes to search again into his dataset, but this time search only for records that include BOTH Tags “Investments” and “Legal”.

How-To: Lucas’ search criteria are automatically saved for re-executing the same query in the future. He accesses “Advanced Search” again, in Suppl#37. This time, and instead of reloading the criteria he used two days earlier, he clicks on “Past Searches” and reaches Suppl#38. He clicks the “Load” icon next to his original search, two days earlier, and he is back to Suppl#37, with all criteria from two days earlier already pre-loaded.

He modifies the “Tags” portion to the following: Must include ALL of Tags “Investments”, “Legal”.

Lastly, Lucas clicks on “Save and Search Now!” and he sees his new search results in Suppl#39.

Notably, the new search is executed on the current dataset, not the dataset as it existed when the Search criteria was saved initially.
